Matter-Energy-Space-Time - M.E.S.T. - eiko
I think this is cool music! It's mostly ambient. Apparently recorded in mid 1994 and sounds like it too.

It uses really nice organic sounds, lots of atmosphere and almost too many samples, but not quite. :) It's very hypnotic and sounds simpler than it really is.

I like all the tracks. And they are all somehow unique to the others. :)

I don't really know how to rate this release. Recommended if you like oldschool goa sounds and relaxed music and don't care so much about sound quality.
Kid Baltan - Electronic Music - Alain_Patrick
More than a decade before Kraftwerk, Dick Raaijmakers, also known as Kid Baltan (a pseudonym created by the spelling of his name Dick and Natlab - his working place - backwards) was, together with Tom Dissevelt, behind the early contemporary Electronic Music compositions.

Between 1957 and 1958, the duo composed through the use of primitive synthesizers timeless masterpieces, 'Song Of The Second Moon' and 'Sonik Re-Entry' being the most notorious of them.
Even before the landing of men into the Moon or any Space travels, majestic 'Song Of The Second Moon' captured the essence of the space mood and Science Fiction esthetic. 'Song Of The Second Moon' was the blueprint for a future sound, later recognized as 'Electronic Music'.

On the cover of the seven inch single first pressing on Philips, you could read 'Electronic Popular Music', and there was an astonishing text about the 'new possibilities of expression' concerning the Electronic Music and the independance between the spirit of the composition and the medium of its expression. (Don't miss the chance to read and realize how modern this concepts are).
Funkstörung - Funkentstört - T.ysT.r
This record really is outstandingly good. I'm a bit confused about something though. The side B label indicates it runs at 45 rpm, but I think it's on there by mistake. At 45 rpm it just sounds too 'rushed'. At 33 rpm however, the tracks are wonderfull. Especially 'Funkstille', one of the prettiest pieces of music I have. If you're into mid-90's Autechre, get this one too! A great record to start your Funkstörung collection with.
Hydra - Butterflies - jaderamsay
My dad made this song, i sang the vocals and featured on the front cover so i'm probably slightly biased =P

Reviews have to be at least 75 words as well sooooooo i'l have to fill the rest of this up with somethiiiing i spose.
alphabet perhaps?
A, b, c, d, e, f, g, h, i, j, k, l, m, n, o, p, q, r, s, t, u, v, w, x, y, z.

In conclusion, this song is fabulous and everyone should buy every song in existence produced by Hydra (Gary Overall) because my dad is fantabulous.

The End.
Snowy Red - Treat Me / Euroshima (Wardance) - BomberOne
Treat Me is a cool but not so interesting New Wave song, with some sad vocals, typical of 80" Belgian alternative scene, in between EBM and dark wave. But if you head to the flip you'll find the gem : Euroshima (Wardance) is a definitive classic New Beat track. Slow, dark and synthetic pop instrumental piece, inspired, and at the perfect pitch to get you directly in it.

Michael Wilson - Groove It To Your Body - Yamaha78
Who posted this? Where did you get the album from? Where can i find it? Michael Wilson Groove it to your body is a classic!!! What happened to him? Where can i write to whomever found this album if possible i would love to hear from you. I am young but i am very interested. I heard this song on imeem and it is a great funky beat. It drove me out of my mind. Groove it to your soul!
Devo - Duty Now For The Future - andyman5
Devo's second record is quite a departure from the racey edgy Brian Eno punk of 'Are We Not Men'. It is much more electronic (though equally as good) and about as punk rock as the time permitted. From the opening monotone drone of 'Devo Corporate Anthem' thru to 'Red-eye express' this is a very solid and at times comical album. The highlights here are Smart Patrol /Mr. DNA, 'Swelling Itching Brain'and 'Blockhead' that are rife with typical devo-izms, drug references, and anti-establishment thinking.'Pink Pussycat' with its 'meow meow meow' chorus still gives me a laugh.

Devo were and still are eons ahead of their time and are perhaps one of the bravest bands ever. Who else took the risks these guys did?
Producers For Bob - Bob's Media Ecology² - marcodbeast
This is a vanity press album put together by Canadian plagiarist and netstalker Bob Dean (who stole his "Bob Dobbs" moniker and much of his content from the Church of the SubGenius) and his friends. Mr. Dean has been netstalking the Church of the SubGenius for years, and was only able to produce this album because trademark enforcement in Canada from the USA is so expensive an undertaking.

Negativland were lied to outright by the producers, who claimed to them that this was a SubGenius-approved venture in order to secure their appearance on this album, and mention the fact explicitly on their site's discography.

MC Shan - Beat Biter - CHOON-RAIDER
On a hip hop documentary MC Sham went on one about The Bridge sayin the record was about where "they" came from meaning the track was about what happened in the bronx.Yet there`s no mention in the track of the bronx or any MC from the bronx.Trying to make out that insults the intelligence of anyone who knows the bronx vs queens story. The rhymes are sooo weak even compared to similar efforts of that time.Tellin us about how ruff it was in his neighbourhood "gettin frisked just to get in" well that happens everywhere. As the rhyme goes on by the third verse it starts to stray away from what the record is about and shan goes on tellin us "the morals of the story" why we should stay in school shit like that. The Bridge is a point in hip hop history but when you think about it a groundbreaker it is not.Beat Biter is Shan vs Cool J it turns out LL`s nicked beats off Shan and he`s not happy. I`m really amazed someone like marley marl even put this record out stole my beats? Daffy Duck / Porky Pig samples? more weak rhymes.
Cabaret Voltaire - Silent Command - BomberOne
What a pleasure to write down the first comment on this brilliant release form Cabaret Voltaire! And dear, who could have expected THIS after the harsh and fierce punk of their previous single, "Nag Nag Nag"! "Silent Command" is an incredible track : a two-tone punk frame with some treated vocals, always on the edge of madness, enhanced by some French films samples dropped cleverly now and then (I recognized French Actor Michel Piccoli talking about an Iranian woman named "Anita", FWIW) and punctuated some manic keyboards riffs or strange tape effects.
The overall feeling oscillate from energizing/mesmerizing experimental punk-rock to bizarre fun, not to say the feeling it's a complete joke !
Clearly a timeless track, weird hypnotic and catchy tune when released, obviously, but still as bizarre and seducive today and certainly tomorrow, which proves again the talent of Kirk, Watson & Mallinder.

The B-side, a soundtrack for an experimental film from Babette Mondini, is more on the previous wavelength of the experimental ambient that Cabs did display in its first years.
